Housing and Streetscape Around Takanawa Gateway

Residential character varies sharply between the redevelopment district and established Takanawa neighborhoods. North of the station toward Mita stands TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY RESIDENCE, completed in 2026 as a 44-story building with two basement levels. The broader project has been planned as a premium rental community of roughly 847 homes with international-standard accommodation suitable for expatriate business residents. West of Route 15, however, the traditional Takanawa side consists of existing condominium buildings, rental apartments, detached houses and temples, creating a quieter streetscape. Takanawa is notably hilly, so real walking time and effort can differ even between properties with similar map distances. The Konan side has a more metropolitan character dominated by offices, towers and major roads. As a result, homes all advertised as being within walking distance of Takanawa Gateway can offer very different living conditions. Prospective residents should inspect gradients, noise, views, supermarket routes and location-specific hazard information rather than comparing station distance alone.
