Transport Around Takanawa Gateway: Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku and Sengakuji Connections
Map & surroundings
Takanawa Gateway Station is served by the JR Yamanote Line, station code JY26, and the Keihin-Tohoku Line, station code JK21. JR East lists approximate travel times of eight minutes to Tokyo Station on the Keihin-Tohoku Line, about 14 minutes to Shibuya on the inner-loop Yamanote Line and around 21 minutes to Shinjuku. Sengakuji Station, served by the Toei Asakusa and Keikyu lines, is also within walking distance; TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY lists a walk of approximately two minutes from parts of the development. The Keikyu connection is particularly useful for Haneda Airport. Shinagawa, the next major station, provides access to the Tokaido Shinkansen and multiple JR services. Takanawa Gateway has North and South ticket gates, reserved-seat ticket machines, Suica facilities and coin lockers. New pedestrian decks and public spaces created as part of the redevelopment have also improved movement between the station, Sengakuji and surrounding neighborhoods.
