Dining Around Aoyama-itchome

Aoyama-itchome has a substantial office population, so restaurants near the station and inside nearby buildings are strongly geared toward weekday lunches and after-work dining. Cafes, Japanese restaurants, Western food, noodle shops and izakaya-style establishments are available, while the range expands significantly along Aoyama-dori toward Gaienmae. Heading in the opposite direction gives access to the much larger restaurant concentration around Akasaka. If a 10- to 20-minute walk is considered part of the normal neighborhood, dining choice is therefore extensive. However, businesses in office-oriented blocks can have very different weekday and weekend schedules. Residents should check where reliable evening and weekend options are located rather than evaluating the district only during weekday lunchtime.
