Overview and Character of the Omote-sando Area
Map & surroundings
Omote-sando Station is served by the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Chiyoda and Hanzomon lines. On the Minato side, Kita-Aoyama 3-chome and Minami-Aoyama 3-6-chome form the main walkable neighborhood. International fashion stores, restaurants, offices, beauty businesses and medical facilities cluster around Aoyama-dori and Omotesando, while quieter side streets contain low- and mid-rise apartments, houses and schools. The zelkova-lined Omotesando avenue is one of the area's defining landscapes; Minato City's planning guidelines also identify it, together with the Jingu Gaien ginkgo avenue and other greenery, as an important local feature. The northwestern side of the station belongs to Jingumae in Shibuya City, so residents should check which municipality provides a particular public service.
