Overview and Atmosphere Around Shibakoen Station
Map & surroundings
Shibakoen Station, numbered I05 on the Toei Mita Line, is located in Shibakoen 4-chome, Minato City. To the west are Metropolitan Shiba Park, Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower, while offices and apartment buildings extend toward Shibadaimon, Hamamatsucho and Shiba to the east and south. Metropolitan Shiba Park spans Shibakoen 1-4 chome and is generally open at all times with free admission; the official park guide lists it as about a two-minute walk from Shibakoen Station. Immediate access to substantial greenery is unusual for such a central Tokyo location. The neighborhood is not a purely residential district, however, as government offices, companies, hospitals, temples and tourist attractions generate significant daytime activity. Within roughly 800 meters to one kilometer, Daimon, Hamamatsucho, Akabanebashi and Onarimon stations broaden transportation, dining and shopping options. Historic scenery, views of Tokyo Tower, offices and residences coexist within a compact area.
