Schools and Education Around Takeshiba

Under Minato City's school-zone table effective from April 2025, Kaigan 1-chome, including the Takeshiba area, is assigned to Onarimon Gakuen Onarimon. Attendance at the designated school is the basic rule, although Minato operates a school-choice system for new entrants. Elementary pupils may request certain neighboring schools, while junior-high students may apply to other municipal junior highs, subject to capacity and annual restrictions. Minato issued its guide for children entering school in April 2027 in September 2026. Foreign-national children wishing to attend municipal elementary or junior-high schools must complete procedures with the city's School Affairs Section. Minato also provides a multilingual three-way telephone interpretation service. Takeshiba itself is not a major concentration of schools, so families should evaluate education across the wider commuting area including Onarimon, Hamamatsucho and Shibakoen rather than looking only immediately beside the station.
