Shirokane-takanawa is not a major office cluster, but it has strong access to Tokyo's business centers. The Mita Line runs directly to Hibiya and Otemachi, while the Namboku Line serves Roppongi-itchome and Nagatacho. Redevelopment in the Shirokane 1-chome Eastern district introduced both a 26-story office building and a 42-story residential tower. The Eastern North redevelopment also includes housing, factory space, offices and everyday service facilities, creating a mixed rather than purely residential district. Smaller offices and businesses are also scattered toward Gyoranzaka and the Shirokane shopping streets. Office rents vary substantially by station distance, age, floor area and building grade, so one station-wide average is not sufficient.
