Shopping around Shirokane-takanawa is not limited to modern station-front complexes. Minato City's 'Shirokane-Takanawa Shopping Street Book,' updated in July 2026, identifies seven shopping associations in the wider Takanawa district: Shirokane, Shirokane Kitasato-dori, Shirokane Plaza, Platinum Hills, Gyoran Ginza, Merry Road Takanawa and Takanawadai. Several of these, particularly Shirokane Plaza, Gyoran and Shirokane, are practical for residents around the station. Everyday businesses include food retailers, restaurants, cleaning and other local services, while supermarkets, convenience stores and drugstores are also found near the station. Individual hours and closing days vary, and the municipal shopping-street information is updated in stages. For residential decisions, the real walking route to everyday food and household stores is often more useful than station distance alone.
