Shirokanedai is not a station-front district dominated by department stores or a major shopping mall. Everyday life is supported by supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores and specialist businesses, while residents can also use the larger retail concentration around nearby Meguro when needed. Gaien Nishi-dori runs through the Shirokanedai 5-chome area and is lined intermittently with restaurants, shops and service businesses. Inside Shirokanedai Station, a Seven Bank ATM operates from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and lockers, an ID-photo machine and mobile-battery rental equipment are also available. For furniture, major appliances or broad comparison shopping, traveling to nearby commercial hubs is generally more practical. Because the neighborhood is hilly, actual walking routes to supermarkets can feel substantially different from straight-line map distances.
