Nearest station: Shirokanedai

Shirokanedai contains extensive housing, university and research facilities, parks and museums rather than a large entertainment district. Public authorities do not, however, designate an entire station area as categorically safe, and crime conditions and nighttime pedestrian activity vary by street and period. Prospective residents should therefore inspect their actual route home. Much of Shirokanedai occupies elevated terrain associated with the Musashino Plateau, but the neighborhood also contains slopes and substantial changes in elevation, so disaster conditions are not uniform. Minato City publishes information on seismic shaking, liquefaction, flooding, storm surge, tsunami and landslide risks. Properties near slopes or retaining walls should be checked specifically against landslide warning zones and related maps. Hazard exposure should be evaluated using the exact address, building structure, floor level and evacuation route rather than the station name alone.
