Living in Tamachi for Women

Tamachi combines transport convenience with a strong concentration of everyday services. The Shibaura side offers a supermarket, drugstore, Aiiku Hospital, Shibaura Park and Minato Park Shibaura, allowing work and daily needs to be managed within a compact area. The second floor of Minato Park Shibaura houses Minato City's Libra Gender Equality Center, which as of April 2026 is generally open from 9:00 to 21:30 and serves as a base for activities and information related to gender equality. The Mita side has many restaurants serving students and office workers and remains active in the evening. However, pedestrian levels can change significantly on side streets, canal routes and office-dominated blocks. Women considering living alone should inspect the actual route home at the time they expect to use it and check lighting, pavement conditions, access control, building management, security cameras and nearby convenience stores rather than relying on a blanket neighborhood assessment.
