Shopping Around Tameike-sanno: Station Retail, Akasaka and ARK Hills

Tameike-sanno is not a department-store or mega-mall district, but everyday shopping is well supported for a central business location. Tokyo Metro lists a Lawson inside the station operating from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., while Matsumoto Kiyoshi generally operates from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays. Supermarkets, drugstores and convenience stores are distributed across Akasaka 2-chome and toward Akasaka-mitsuke, while ARK Hills toward Roppongi-itchome contains food and service retailers. Walking toward Toranomon adds larger commercial complexes such as Toranomon Hills. The main consideration for residents is that some shops primarily serve the weekday office population and may shorten hours at night or on weekends. For long-term housing decisions, the actual route to the preferred supermarket, including slopes, major intersections and late-night opening hours, is more useful than counting nearby shops.
