Nearest station: Azabu-juban

Sengakuji does not have a large conventional metropolitan park immediately beside the station, but the Takanawa and Mita side contains temple grounds and relatively green residential streets. On the eastern side, Takanawa Gateway development has introduced new plazas and open spaces. JR East describes TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY as incorporating pedestrian decks, a waterside biotope, landscaped plazas and open spaces as part of a roughly 1.1-kilometer urban corridor extending toward Shinagawa and Tamachi. These contemporary spaces have a different character from the historic greenery around temples, giving residents several types of walking environment. Takanawa's western side has considerable elevation changes, while the Gateway district increasingly emphasizes deck-based pedestrian connections. Families with strollers and people with limited mobility should check slopes, steps and elevator locations along their intended routes. ([JR東日本][7])
