Housing and Streetscape in Shiodome

Housing in Shiodome differs from the lower-rise residential neighborhoods found elsewhere in Minato City. It is dominated by high- and mid-rise apartment buildings within and around the redevelopment area. Shiodome Sio-Site's own facility information identifies residential developments including Tokyo Twin Parks and Sky Grande Shiodome toward Hamamatsucho, while Italian Town was designed as a mix of office, commercial and residential uses. High-rise living can offer strong station access, views, shared facilities and security, but conditions differ significantly by unit because of expressways, rail lines, major roads and neighboring towers. Although Shiodome has extensive underground and elevated pedestrian infrastructure, the route from each residential building to the nearest station entrance or grocery store can vary. Apartments facing Hamarikyu may also have a very different outlook from those facing the western urban area. Buyers and tenants should examine floor level, orientation, window performance, management quality, long-term repair planning and emergency facilities at the individual building and unit level.
