Schools and Education around Shiodome

According to Minato City's current school-zone table, Higashi-Shimbashi 1-chome and 2-chome are assigned to Onarimon Elementary School, with Onarimon Junior High School as the corresponding public junior high. Because the immediate Shiodome district has a high proportion of office and commercial buildings, schools are not concentrated directly around the station in the way they are in some residential neighborhoods, and pupils generally travel toward the Shimbashi-Onarimon side. Minato City uses the school associated with the residential address as the basic assignment while also operating a school-choice system for new entrants. Guidance for students entering in April 2027 was published in September 2026. Elementary-school choices are generally limited to designated and adjacent school zones, and some schools may restrict out-of-zone applicants because of enrollment pressure. Foreign-national children wishing to attend a municipal school must also complete the prescribed enrollment procedures.
