Shopping Around Hinode Station

Hinode is a waterfront district of piers, warehouses, offices and apartments rather than a conventional station-front shopping center. Hi-NODE near Hinode Pier contains dining facilities, but it is not designed as a full-scale everyday retail center. For groceries and household needs, residents typically combine shops in Shibaura 1-chome and Tamachi with facilities around Hamamatsucho and Takeshiba, using walking or bicycles as appropriate. Northern routes lead toward the expanding retail environment of Takeshiba and Hamamatsucho, while Shibaura and Tamachi offer supermarkets, drugstores and other neighborhood services to the southwest. Canals, bridges and major roads can make actual walking times differ from simple map distances. When assessing a home, the route to the supermarket, convenience store and pharmacy that would actually be used every day is therefore more informative than station walking time alone.
