Schools and Education around Shimbashi

Minato City's attendance-zone table in effect from April 2025 places Shimbashi 1-6 chome, Higashi-Shimbashi 1-2 chome and Nishi-Shimbashi 1-3 chome within the Onarimon Gakuen elementary and junior-high school area. The city updated information for April 2027 entrants on August 26, 2026 and published its 2027 school guide in September. Children are normally assigned to the school serving their registered address, although Minato operates a school-choice system: elementary pupils may apply to designated neighboring schools, while junior-high students may request other municipal schools. Capacity restrictions can apply. Foreign-national children who wish to attend a municipal school must complete procedures with the city's school-affairs section. Although Shimbashi is primarily perceived as a business district, schools and residential areas are found toward Onarimon and Shiba. Families should inspect actual school routes, road crossings, pedestrian conditions and emergency evacuation arrangements.
