Minami-Azabu, where Hiro-o Station is located, is one of the most visibly international parts of Minato City, with numerous embassies and a substantial foreign-resident population. English and other languages are relatively common in dining, food retail and education. Minato City operates foreign-resident consultation on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., listing support for English, Chinese, Korean, Indonesian, Spanish, Thai, Tagalog, Nepali, Hindi, French, Vietnamese, Portuguese and Russian, among others; some languages use remote interpretation. The city also provides multilingual living and school information and three-way telephone interpretation. Since February 2025, a transparent real-time translation display supporting approximately 120 languages has been available at the Minato City Hall general information desk. Private services such as property leasing, banking and medical care do not have uniform language policies, however, so each provider should be checked individually.
