Housing and Streetscape around Daimon
Map & surroundings
Housing around Daimon follows a central-city pattern: apartments are interspersed among offices, hotels and commercial buildings rather than forming a continuous residential neighborhood. Hamamatsucho 1-2 chome and Shibadaimon 1-2 chome contain apartments ranging from compact units for singles and couples to larger family-oriented properties, with additional housing toward Shiba Park. Conditions differ markedly by direction. Hamamatsucho and the waterfront side are more affected by railways, major roads and large buildings, while the Shiba Park side can offer closer proximity to parks and temples. Even properties equally described as five minutes from the station may have very different noise, sunlight and views depending on orientation, floor and neighboring buildings. Existing condominiums require checks of seismic standards, repair reserves, management fees, long-term repair planning, management quality, plumbing and elevators. Near redevelopment zones, future construction plans may also alter views and pedestrian patterns, making multiple site visits at different times advisable.
