Nearest station: Daimon

Daimon provides several possible commuting and return-home routes through the Asakusa and Oedo lines plus the JR Yamanote, Keihin-Tohoku and Tokyo Monorail services at Hamamatsucho. Restaurants, convenience stores and clinics create activity around many station streets, especially on weekdays. However, office districts can become much quieter late at night or on weekends, and conditions differ between the relatively calm Shiba Park side and busier Hamamatsucho streets. For women living alone, as for any resident concerned about nighttime mobility, station walking time alone is therefore insufficient. A useful inspection includes walking the actual route at the usual return-home hour and checking street lighting, open businesses, pedestrian activity, underpasses, major-road crossings, visibility around the building entrance, automatic locks, security cameras and corridor design. Safety should be assessed at the route and building level rather than inferred from the Daimon district name.
