As of September 11, 2026, several major projects are progressing simultaneously around Shinagawa Station. Minato City is advancing the Takanawa 3-chome Shinagawa Station-front redevelopment, intended to address aging buildings, narrow roads and inadequate pedestrian connections while creating a mixed district with multiple urban functions. Development north of Shinagawa toward Takanawa Gateway is also continuing, with broader Shinagawa-area placemaking entering a new phase in March 2026. Preservation and public-display works for parts of the historic Takanawa Embankment, including the No. 7 Bridge area, began in March 2026 with public opening targeted for fiscal 2027. Minato City is additionally developing the second east-west connecting road between Takanawa and the Shibaura-Konan area, and pedestrian routes may change as construction progresses. Shinagawa should therefore be viewed not as a completed district but as an area whose station circulation and urban functions will continue evolving over the coming years. ([港区公式ホームページ][13])
