Dining Around Shinagawa Station
Map & surroundings
Shinagawa offers a broad range of dining choices, and different parts of the station area serve different purposes. Inside the station and at atré Shinagawa, cafés, restaurants and food shops work well for meals during commuting or travel. Around the Konan Exit, lunch restaurants, izakaya and other venues cater strongly to office workers, giving the district a pronounced weekday business atmosphere. On the Takanawa side, hotel dining is prominent, including restaurants associated with the Shinagawa Prince Hotel complex. Smaller establishments also remain in parts of Konan, preserving traces of the district's older character alongside modern office towers. Because prices vary widely, it is more useful to select restaurants by purpose—everyday meals, business entertaining or hotel dining—than to characterize the entire Shinagawa area as either expensive or inexpensive.
