Shinagawa Transport | JR, Shinkansen and Keikyu Connections
Map & surroundings
Shinagawa's strongest feature is the breadth of its transport network. JR East services include the Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, Tokaido Line and Ueno-Tokyo Line, as well as the Yokosuka Line and through services toward the Sobu Rapid Line. JR Central's Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen also stop here, while the Keikyu Main Line provides an important connection toward Haneda Airport. Current JR East platform information shows direct rail links toward Tokyo and Ueno, Shibuya and Shinjuku, Omiya and Ofuna, Yokohama and Odawara, and Tokyo, Chiba and Kurihama depending on the service used. The station is extensive, and the east-west passage connecting the Takanawa and Konan exits functions as a major pedestrian route between the two districts. The combination of urban rail, Shinkansen and airport access makes Shinagawa particularly convenient for residents and workers who travel frequently within Japan or overseas. ([JR東日本][2])
