Housing and Streetscape in Gaiemmae

Housing around Gaiemmae consists mainly of apartment buildings in Kita-Aoyama and Minami-Aoyama. Conditions differ markedly between properties facing major roads such as Aoyama-dori and Gaien Nishi-dori and those on quieter side streets. Main-road locations generally offer convenient station and retail access, but traffic and road noise should be checked. Back streets may be quieter, though nighttime walking routes, slopes and road widths vary from property to property. On the northern side closer to Jingu Gaien, sports and event crowds can also affect the residential environment. Gaiemmae overlaps with the practical walking catchments of Omote-sando, Aoyama-itchome and parts of the Nogizaka area, meaning that station walking time alone does not fully describe livability. Sunlight, views, road orientation, building management, waste facilities and bicycle storage should all be inspected. Future redevelopment and construction may also alter views and pedestrian flows.
