Gaiemmae for Students and Young Adults
Map & surroundings
The Ginza Line gives Gaiemmae convenient access to Shibuya, while Omote-sando is both the next station and within walking distance from parts of the neighborhood. This gives students and younger professionals a wide activity range. Jingu Gaien provides major sports facilities, while Aoyama and Omote-sando offer numerous cafes and fashion and design-oriented shops. The Aoyama Lifelong Learning Center in Minami-Aoyama 4-chome also includes library and study space. Gaiemmae, however, is a central Aoyama neighborhood rather than a traditional university district with large concentrations of student housing. Rents vary widely by building age, floor area, station distance and specification, so actual comparable listings are more useful than a single station-wide average. The location can work particularly well when school or part-time work is in Shibuya or central Tokyo, while students prioritizing lower living costs should compare neighboring stations as well.
