Nearest station: Gaiemmae

Gaiemmae Station lies along Aoyama-dori near the boundary between Kita-Aoyama and Minami-Aoyama in Minato City. It is served by the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and sits between Omote-sando and Aoyama-itchome. To the north are Meiji Jingu Gaien, Meiji Jingu Stadium and the Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium area, while offices, shops and residential streets extend south into Minami-Aoyama. Aoyama-dori has a strong business and retail character, yet quieter apartment-lined streets appear just behind the main avenue. Office workers, residents and visitors attending sports or cultural events therefore share the area. The proximity of the Gaien ginkgo avenue and major sports grounds gives Gaiemmae an unusual combination of dense central-Tokyo functions and greenery. Crowding can increase substantially on major event days. As of 2026, redevelopment of the Jingu Gaien district is also progressing, so future changes to buildings, public space and pedestrian circulation should be monitored.
