Around Daiba Station: Tokyo Bay Waterfront Living, Tourism and Urban Amenities
Map & surroundings
The area around Daiba Station forms part of Tokyo's waterfront subcenter, combining views across Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge with major tourism, retail, hotel and residential uses. AQUA CiTY Odaiba, Fuji Television headquarters, Hilton Tokyo Odaiba and Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba are concentrated close to the station, while Odaiba Marine Park is also within walking distance. Daiba 1-chome has a different, more residential character, with apartment developments and community facilities including Odaiba Gakuen, Nijinohashi Kindergarten, Daiba Nursery School, Daiba Children's Hall and Daiba Civic Center. Minato City recorded 4,504 residents in Daiba 1-chome and 983 in Daiba 2-chome as of September 1, 2026. The contrast between busy visitor-oriented waterfront zones and quieter residential blocks is therefore an important feature of the neighborhood. The name Daiba originates from the defensive gun batteries constructed in Tokyo Bay in the nineteenth century, linking today's modern waterfront with its historical origins.
