Student and Young Adult Life Around Mita
Map & surroundings
Mita is one of Minato's most recognizable university neighborhoods. Keio University's official access information places the Mita Campus about seven minutes from Mita Station and eight minutes from Tamachi, bringing a substantial daily population of undergraduate and graduate students into the area. Keio Naka-dori between Tamachi and the university contains many affordable and quick-service restaurants serving both students and office workers. Mita Library on floors four through six of Fudanotsuji Square normally remains open until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and provides a useful place for research and study. Students can combine the Asakusa and Mita subway lines with the JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines for part-time jobs, internships and recruiting activities across Tokyo. Housing, however, is part of the central Minato market, so students should compare individual listings carefully by rent, room size, age, management fees and actual walking route.
