Parks and Green Space Around Mita

Mita is a high-density central Tokyo district rather than an area built around a large station-side park, but several parks and children's playgrounds are distributed through the neighborhood. Minato City's listed Shiba-area facilities include Honshiba Park, Shiba Park, Shiba 5-chome Children's Playground, Mita 2-chome Children's Playground and Mita Tsunamachi Children's Playground. To the east, Shibaura Park provides additional open space near Aiiku Hospital and Minato Park Shibaura. West of the station, the terrain becomes hillier and the presence of university grounds, temples and mature streetscape greenery gives parts of Mita a different feel from the office district. For families, the safest walking route, major-road crossings and gradients may matter as much as distance to the nearest playground. Those prioritizing larger green spaces should evaluate a broader radius extending toward Shiba Park.
