Schools and Education Around Mita
Map & surroundings
The area's best-known educational institution is Keio University's Mita Campus. Keio lists the campus as about seven minutes from Mita Station Exit A3 and hosts students from the Faculty of Letters, Economics, Law and Business and Commerce as well as several graduate schools. Keio Girls Senior High School and Keio Chutobu Junior High School are also nearby. Public schools include Akabane Elementary School in Mita 2-chome and Mita Elementary School in Mita 4-chome. Minato City publishes detailed school attendance zones and operates a school-choice system. Shiba 5-chome is listed within the Mita Elementary attendance area, although eligibility should always be checked against the exact address and enrollment year. Mita Library occupies floors four through six of Fudanotsuji Square and normally remains open until 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Families should therefore verify designated schools, routes and annual enrollment rules rather than relying simply on proximity to Mita Station.
