The Odaiba-kaihinkoen area falls under Tokyo Wangan Police Station, and the Metropolitan Police Department lists the Odaiba-kaihinkoen Station Police Box near the station. Safety should not, however, be reduced to a single neighborhood rating, since pedestrian activity and crowd conditions vary by time of day and during major events. Disaster preparedness is particularly important because Daiba is a reclaimed waterfront district. Minato City publishes separate maps covering tsunami, storm surge, flooding and surface-water inundation, liquefaction and expected earthquake shaking. For tsunami simulations, Daiba is modeled at a 10-meter grid resolution, and the city also provides a worst-case scenario assuming coastal protection facilities fail. An English edition of Minato City's inundation hazard map was updated in September 2026. When evaluating a residence, prospective occupants should therefore check the risk at the exact address, expected inundation depth, evacuation routes and temporary-stay facilities, as well as the building management association's emergency planning and supplies rather than relying only on the building's height.
